Hello, World
Writing has been on my discomfort list since before I started intentionally leaving my comfort zone. The people I look up to most are prolific writers, and all of them are capable of compelling paint off of a wall. I’ve managed to become comfortable with speaking in public (I can do it without collapsing in on myself like a dying star now) so now is a decent time to start on something new. Something like writing publicly.
In fact, my family and I have begun to imagine a future built around an entirely different network far outside of our home in Virginia–so, it’s time to take my first few (clumsy) steps. You’re here with me for it, and whoever you are I am grateful for your time and presence.
I intend to use this space to learn how to tell compelling stories–I’ve worked with incredibly talented people and have performed more professional roles than can be counted on my fingers. I’ll be writing about co-foundings, generative artwork, and some of the lessons I’ve learned about being a father and an engineer. I’ll probably also write about my experience as a sole founder running a software consultancy.
I would also like to publish React + Typescript tutorials in a learn by doing series–a continuation of some of the classes I used to teach for development. I have some pretty unique UX ideas planned and will be prototyping and testing them as I work.
A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.

See you soon.
